Looking back, Mr. Gregory Ward wonders: How were we able to draw strength in times of uncertainty to build what is now The Ward Law Group?
Gregory Ward, initially a defense lawyer, faced significant challenges during his transition to entrepreneurship. Despite early successes in founding a law firm, personal setbacks, including a divorce, family illnesses, and business failures, left him with debts totaling hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Success.com recently spotlighted The Ward Law Group's co-founder, Gregory Ward, showcasing his inspirational journey from adversity to triumph and the firm's commitment to the Hispanic community. The feature dives into Gregory Ward's resilience and determination, emphasizing how his personal story shaped the mission and success of The Ward Law Group.
Looking back sometimes makes us question the outcome of events; we ask ourselves: Where does the inspiration come from to continue to fight for what we dream of? To deeply trust that a mission must be accomplished. An irrational feeling that borders on faith.
At first, many questions and few answers. A lot of anxiety and little calm. Would the mission of representing vulnerable Spanish-speaking communities that suffered an accident be the mission entrusted to live fully in the service of others?
Many doubts may arise at the beginning of the journey. About whether we have made the right decision or whether the emotions we feel, such as fear or anxiety, are entirely normal. In the beginning, we didn't know either. The path itself was illuminating our every step. We had found our mission. In that small office, with only a laptop and many debts to pay off, the clarity of the path had finally shown itself.
Gregory Ward explains, “When Jany and I founded The Ward Law Group, we had the mission to become the best family-owned personal injury law firm focusing on Spanish speakers. We wanted to provide our clients top customer service while maintaining the highest professional and ethical standards.”
In 2012, Gregory Ward, alongside his wife Jany Martinez-Ward, decided to embark on a new path. They founded The Ward Law Group, a personal injury firm dedicated to serving the Spanish-speaking community. Ms. Jany Martinez-Ward's firsthand understanding of the challenges Hispanic immigrants face within the legal system fueled the firm's focus.
Since its inception, The Ward Law Group has experienced consistent growth, scaling by 40%–50% annually. The firm expanded its team, achieved a significant milestone with a confidential settlement exceeding $100 million, and amassed over $500 million in settlements.
The Ward Law Group's core values—faith, accountability, leadership, loyalty, and serving clients, team, and community—are responsible for its success.
The article on Success.com recognizes Gregory Ward's achievements, accolades from publications such as Florida Trend Magazine and Super Lawyers, and his contributions to the legal field through writing and speaking engagements. Gregory Ward envisions offering classes to help entrepreneurs scale their businesses sustainably.
Reflecting on the journey, both Gregory Ward and Jany Martínez-Ward express joy in building a profitable law firm from the ground up. They celebrate the victories won for the underrepresented Hispanic immigrant population, emphasizing the firm's role in securing justice, regardless of background.
